Benedek Totth was born in 1977. He has translated over fifty American and English novels; in 2014, he published his first original novel Holtverseny (Dead Heat), which catapulted him to the forefront of the literary scene. Dead Heat is a light crime novel dealing with adolescence and its vulnerabilities and fragility. In the novel Az utolsó utáni háború (Another Last War, 2017), he lays out a post-apocalyptic adventure of a teenage boy and a wounded American airborne trooper entering a no-man’s land in search of the boy’s presumed dead younger brother.
